Jeremy Bar-Illan has been playing guitar for over 40 years. A graduate of Columbia University, he was a pioneer of the Power Pop genre as a member of The Touchtones and The Moberlys. He has performed and released multiple CDs worlwide and his latest effort, "The Man in the Purple Hat" is available on iTunes. Reviews have compared his style to such virtuosos as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton.
Lessons focus on practical application and most often result in students playing songs after the first lesson. Lessons are rigorous and emphasize the importance of strength, technique and musicality.
Vocal coaching is available upon request.
"Jeremy Bar-Illian has been an amazing guitar-teacher to both my sons. My older son has blossomed into a confident musician under Jeremy’s tutelage. Teaching my six-year old Jeremy is always patient and flexible; he knows how to make it fun, and when it is time to quit. He also understands the family dynamic, and gives my younger son things he can work on with the older one...which makes getting him to practice much easier. He is also a true musician who will switch over to piano for a few minutes if my daughter runs into the room and wants to be in on the action. Every week I look forward to having a rocking mini-concert in my living room on lesson night." -AS 2012
